The longer I learn, as a scientist, to look for small living beings, the more I encounter them everywhere. They buzz, chirp, flutter, wander past, and make my life more colorful. This is a small ode to those colors. Without many words: it was a vibrant, mountain-dominated summer of 2025, spent between northern Italy, cooking in a youth camp, family holidays, and climbing.
Here some of my highlights:

Before the vacation—and the obligatory escape from the overcrowded Galician summer—I lived for a few weeks in my tent and car (partly because of the Galician summer and because many apartments turn into Airbnbs during the season). But for me, this meant plenty of time outdoors, many opportunities to be closer to other forms of life, and time for climbing.
